I teach undergraduate philosophy courses at HKU. Here are descriptions of the two courses I taught before
Moral Problems–In this course, we look into structural issues of contemporary moral society and issues that concern everyday life. Starting with methodological shifts in contemporary moral philosophy, this course examines contemporary arguments regarding structural moral problems concerning the trajectory of morality, epistemic-moral limitations, and identity in a pluralist world. We will then analyse the limitations of these arguments and problems that arise within them.
Moral Psychology–The first part of this course covers discussions of moral judgment, evolution of morality, evolutionary psychology, situationism, and folk psychology. In particular, the course evaluates the structure of human minds and behaviours implicated in empirical studies. The second part of the course concentrates on selected focal issues, including altruism, empathy, wellbeing, and trauma.
